A Scrap Sale Still Uses Personal Information

Bank Details Should Be Limited
For a bank transfer, the buyer needs enough information to pay you. Usually that means account name, sort code and account number, or whatever safe payment details your bank requires. They do not need screenshots showing balances, other transactions or unrelated accounts.
If someone asks for unusual financial information, pause and ask why. A scrap car buyer does not need online banking passwords, card numbers, security codes or photos of your banking app. Payment should be straightforward and traceable, not intrusive.
Remove Private Paperwork From The Car
Before collection, search the car properly. Check the glovebox, door pockets, boot, parcel shelf, seat backs and under-seat spaces. Old insurance letters, repair invoices, finance documents, parking permits, medical appointment letters or school notes can sit in a car for years.

If the car is being collected from somewhere other than your home, keep the explanation simple. For example, it may be at a garage, workplace yard or relative's address. Do not share extra private addresses unless they are needed for the collection or record.
Keep Your Own Record Too
Privacy is not only about withholding information. It is also about keeping your own proof. Save the buyer name, company detail, payment record, receipt and collection address. That way you can answer later questions without sending fresh documents again.
